Why I Decided to Step Forward

I believe deeply in the importance of education and in giving every student the opportunity to succeed.

I decided to run for El Dorado County Office of Education because I believe our community deserves a trustee who will listen, ask questions, and advocate for students and families.

I’m not running because I believe everything is wrong. I’m running because I believe we can always do better.

Our students deserve strong academic foundations, safe schools, meaningful opportunities, and the skills they need to succeed not only in the classroom, but in life.

And I believe parents and families should have a meaningful voice in the decisions that affect their children.

WHAT I BELIEVE

Education should prepare students for more than the next grade level.

I want to help strengthen the fundamentals—reading, writing, mathematics, critical thinking, and a strong academic foundation—while making sure students are also developing the practical skills, confidence, character, and knowledge they need for whatever comes next.

Whether a student chooses college, a trade, the military, entrepreneurship, or another path, they should leave our schools prepared to pursue it.

And throughout that process, parents should be treated as partners in their children’s education.

GOOD ENOUGH ISN’T GOOD ENOUGH.

Every decision we make should answer one question:

Does this help our students learn, grow, and succeed?

That’s the standard I believe we should hold ourselves to.

Why I’m Running

I’m running because I believe our students deserve better — and our community deserves a voice.

I’m not running for a title. I’m running because I believe the decisions we make today shape the future of our students, our families, and our community.
