MY PRIORITIES
Every student deserves the opportunity to build a strong foundation, discover their strengths, and leave school prepared for whatever comes next.
PUTTING PARENTS AT THE CENTER
Parents should have a meaningful voice in their children’s education. I believe families and educators should work together, and parents should be informed, heard and welcomed as partners in the decisions that affect their children.
BACK TO THE FUNDAMENTALS
Students need a strong foundation before they can build toward their future. I want to prioritize reading, writing, mathematics, critical thinking, and other essential academic skills so students are given the tools they need to succeed.
PREPARING STUDENTS FOR LIFE
Education should prepare students for more than the next grade level. Students should have opportunities to develop practical life skills, communication, problem-solving, technology skills, financial understanding, and the confidence to navigate life after graduating.
CAREER & TRADE PREPARATION
College is not the only path to a successful future. I want students to have meaningful exposure to career and technical education, skilled trades, entrepreneurship, and other opportunities that can help them discover their strengths and build a career.
RAISING THE STANDARD
I believe we should never settle for simply getting students through the system. We should continually ask whether our decisions are actually helping students learn, grow, and prepare for their future.
SAFE SCHOOLS & ACCOUNTABILITY
Students cannot learn effectively if they don’t feel safe. Schools should have clear expectations, consistent accountability, and a strong commitment to creating an environment where students and staff can learn and work safely.
LIFE-SAVING EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS
Our community understands the importance of being prepared for emergencies. Students should have age-appropriate opportunities to learn basic safety skills, emergency preparedness, CPR, first aid, and what to do when seconds matter.
STUDENT HEALTH & WELL BEING
A well-rounded education should support the whole student. Physical education, recess, nutrition, mental well-being, healthy relationships, and opportunities to develop confidence and resilience all have a place in helping students thrive.
SUPPORTING EDUCATORS & STAFF
Teachers and school staff are at the heart of our students’ daily experience. They deserve the resources, support, and clear expectations they need to do their job well.
I believe strong communication between educators, administrators, parents, and the community is essential. When we support the people working directly with our students while maintaining high standards and accountability, we create a stronger environment for everyone.
